Arthurian Alchemy
Every token has a story. Ours begins on a Cornish clifftop, with a king who may never have existed — and a mining industry that very much did.
Born at Tintagel
MINERA QV was conceived in 2025 on the north Cornish coast at Tintagel — where the ruins of a medieval castle cling to the cliffs, the Atlantic does its best to take them, and the Arthur legend feels, for a moment, almost plausible. It is also, less romantically, mining country. The coast and moors around it are scattered with old workings, engine houses and heaps of spoil left from the centuries when Cornwall supplied the world with tin and copper.
Standing among both — the myth on the headland and the mine waste underfoot — the founder had an idea that refused to leave: Britain's mining past could be retold on-chain. Not as nostalgia, but as something modern and checkable — a utility token whose story is drawn from real heritage and whose facts are drawn from a block explorer. The legend gives it a voice. The chain gives it a spine.

A sword from a Cornish lake
The original design brief for the token symbol read:
“The MNRQV token symbol draws on Arthurian myth — a sword rising from a mystical Cornish lake, encircled by Merlin's runes. It represents legitimacy, transparency, and AI-driven transformation, rooted in Tintagel's heritage.”
Each figure in the legend carries its own meaning in the mark:
- Arthur & the Sword in the Stone — strength, legitimacy, destiny
- Merlin — wisdom, foresight, transformation
- Guinevere & the Lake — purity, balance
- Tintagel — place, history, mystery
The mark that eventually shipped was a quieter thing — a gold M on a smoky ground — but the sword rising from the lake remains the symbol's true north.
We know. That's the point.
No, we do not believe Merlin reviewed the smart contracts. The legend layer is deliberately tongue-in-cheek — a knowing nod in the old tradition that even the most impossible quests begin with a little imagination. Myth is the invitation; it was never the evidence.
The substance lives somewhere far less romantic: on a block explorer. The supply, the custody and the contracts are all on-chain and checkable — no wizardry required. And beneath the legend sits something no myth can improve on: Cornwall's mining past actually happened. The history is real — read it.
